This workshop combines theory and practical (20% / 80%), and is designed to explore the foundations of yoga: breath, self-awareness, moving with the breath, and internal focusing techniques, to help improve & deepen your practise.
Who’s this for? Students in their first year of regular practise, students new to yoga, and students who practise adhoc.
- Starting with breath work ‘pranayama’ the core of yoga – breathing better not only oxygenates the body better, it also calms the mind & body by activating the parasympathetic nervous system
- Next we’ll look at moving into yoga postures in union with the breath
- Internal focusing technique – we’ll cover Gaze Points / ‘Drishti’ which help internalise our focus
- Alignment – we will look in detail at 1-2 foundation postures to better understand why teaching ques are important to prevent injury
