Yoga Workshop for Beginners: Moving Deeper

This workshop combines theory and practical (20% / 80%),  and is designed to explore the foundations of yoga: breath, self-awareness, moving with the breath, and internal focusing techniques, to help improve & deepen your practise.

Who’s this for? Students in their first year of regular practise, students new to yoga, and students who practise adhoc.

Each section of the workshop will start with the theory and then we’ll put it into practise.
  • Starting with breath work ‘pranayama’ the core of yoga – breathing better not only oxygenates the body better, it also calms the mind & body by activating the parasympathetic nervous system
  • Next we’ll look at moving into yoga postures in union with the breath
  • Internal focusing technique – we’ll cover Gaze Points / ‘Drishti’ which help internalise our focus
  • Alignment – we will look in detail at 1-2 foundation postures to better understand why teaching ques are important to prevent injury
