About Gill

Gill has been practising yoga since 2012, and fell in love with its therapeutic effects during a very challenging time in her life where she experienced various mental health afflictions including anxiety, panic attacks and ‘a breakdown’.

The loss of her mother, lead her to re-examine her life, work and lifestyle and train as a yoga teacher in India in 2017. She then created her company Yoga Annie, as a tribute to her beautifully kind mother Annie, who always found the good in others.

Gill has been a carer three times in her life, supporting her mother and brother during Cancer, as well as caring for them both at end-of-life. Gill is also the primary Carer for her father who has Alzheimer’s (dementia). She therefore believes wholeheartedly that yoga therapy should be a vital component of care, including self-care offered to Carers.

Trauma has had a big impact on her own health and well-being, as well as witnessing its effects on her family, and therefore trauma is an area of deep interest both personally and professionally.

Gill qualified as a Yoga Therapist in 2021, and is also a Trainee Integrative Psychotherapist working in both private practice and clinically at a cancer therapy centre (working towards her 450 clinical hours for full qualification as a Psychotherapist).

Her love of Yoga Philosophy and Spirituality is woven into her approach to holistic therapy and well-being.
