What is Yoga for Carers in the Community?
As a Carer myself (my father has dementia) I understand the emotional burden and stress of caring for a loved one. Carers also tend to be time poor, and it’s always themselves that they put last. However, we can only continue to provide great care, if we also care for ourselves.
Yoga offers not only a physical rest bite, reducing stress, blood pressure, the list goes on. But also an emotional rest bite for the mind, reducing anxiety and preventing symptoms of depression.
I’d like to offer registered Carers within Waltham Forest, but there’s scope for other London boroughs going forward, a weekly 1-hour yoga class at a significantly reduced-rate – making it accessible to all.
Class price will be depending upon final location/set-up fees etc., although I will also be applying for government funding too, so possibility of it being entirely free for Carers – fingers crossed!
If you’re interested in joining the class, supporting the initiative or know someone who might benefit from this then please get in touch firstname.lastname@example.org
